Exclamation Re: Who will replace Biden??

The Party did want him to replace Minner, the higher ups that endorsed him, it's the voters that picked Markell. Whoever it is, they'll have to be willing to step aside in 2 years unless Beau comes home to take the seat. Plus, there's the Treasurer seat to fill ...

*Carney to Treasurer, Beau to Senate. Who gets AG ?

Re: Who will replace Biden??

I gotta go with the following:
Carney given the appointment (it's a 2 yr job) runs against Beau for the 4 yr balance election. Beau promised to fulfill the AG term from the begining. Mrs Doubtfire (Minner) is still pissed over the Markell thing, so she owes Carney for not running against her 4yrs ago. And she also needs to fill the treasurer spot left open by that other rebel that didn't have her ok for the LT Gov job! WOW alot of jockeying down there in Dover!

Re: Who will replace Biden??

Just as long as it's not going to be UberVirgin Christine O'Donnell, I'll be happy. My money is on Carney in the end, especially if it's Minner's call.

Re: Who will replace Biden??

Did I miss something? Did Biden officially give up his senate seat? Because if he waits until Jan 20th, Markell gets to make the pick. If Biden leaves earlier, it will be Minner who picks.

True, but Biden can resign the senate now if he chooses. By resigning now, he will give the new Delaware Senator more seniority over all the new senators picked during this past election. Seniority is pretty important in the house. If Biden waits until Jan 20 to resign, the senator appointed by Markell will be the 100th out of 100....last in seniority. (aka: the crappiest office)
