Sports Betting Solution?

As of today, our state is facing a 100 Million dollar shortfall for the upcoming year.

Cuts ARE coming. And they are going to be deep.

As many of you know, Delaware is the only state east of the Mississippi River that is legally allowed to operate a state run sports book.

Conservative estimates put the first year gross of a Delaware sports book at $200 Million. The state's take being, again conservatively, $70 Million in the first year.

Unlike many politicians who offer ideas but not solutions, this could be a real windfall for a state that is looking at a dire economic forecast.

And the outlook for subsequent years is even worse.

While gambling of all sorts comes with it's negatives, sometimes the best bad solution is...well...best.

I'm all for it!!!!
If it softens up the debt we are in, and some people get an enjoyment out of it...

Hell then why not?

I would actually like to see them open up casino gambling here....
Not just slots, but blackjack roulette and of course CRAPS!!!

It's fun stuff they want to do without.. They'll just raise the taxes on smokes and liquor..

Christ.. My smokes were 20 cents higher this morning, than yesterday.. Damn it..

I just quit... so thats an extra 20 cents on top of the pack a day I was smoking...
Now if I could just get off the nicotine gum.....

I have not been close to a craps table since I quit.... and I do not know how I am going to be when getting around a table either.....
