Re: Obama elected 44th prez

Even though I did not vote for Obama, in a way I do think he was the right choice to move this country into a different direction. I sincerely hope that the "change" all Americans were voting for does work out in their favor.

Whether it is or it isn't the right direction there will be plenty of time for that sort of discussion in the coming months and years. Today however, this is a time to try and put the partisan sticks away and look toward a better future.

Re: Obama elected 44th prez

I've tried to stay out of the polictal debates here just because I didn't want to get into pissing contests.

But now that it's all said and done, the People have spoken, we have decided as a nation that a change is needed & wanted.

Re: Obama elected 44th prez

I do truly hope that Obama will be good for the country. I most certainly understood why the masses were so infused and supercharged by his speeches. I heard them, I heard the hope, I understood the message.

I have serious concerns about the path Obama took to get to the White House. I hope he becomes a unifying president who listens to the people, improves our current system of government and starts solving some of our nation's problems. But the reality is, to get that far in government you owe somebody. I hope Obama does not "owe" the likes of his socialist friends. The payback would be quite bad if this is so.

In all, I trust that God has known the outcome of this election for a mighty long time and I have peace in knowing that while we may think we have some 'control' on this planet, we don't have nearly the power we think we do. So regardless of who won, I will look for the good in it and celebrate. When I see evil in it, I will make noise.

To those who are gloating, stop. This is not a unifying reaction. There are some key issues which make an Obama victory a major loss for some very passionate people. Have some empathy.

May God bless the USA.

Re: Obama elected 44th prez

I too would like to express my admiration for John McCain.

This campaign had every potential to devolve into the worst kind of divisional politics imaginable. And even though it might have helped win him the election, McCain stayed above that fray.

For that reason, there may well be a step towards 'coming together' in the coming years.

I've always been a fan of John McCain, and I like him even more now.
