I'm sorry that you thought that the neg rep I gave you was childish...take comfort in that fact that broadcasting to the whole forum was on a much lower maturity level. | Why is that, are you ashamed of it? |

Both GL and Chase have asked this to cease and I will respect that. Regardless of your reply to this post, I will not respond. I will own that I have a temper and may have responded rather snippingly. However, the only point that I (and Jessica at some point) was trying to make was that if someone goes to the trouble of starting a post for intelligent conversation and one responds "whatever" or "couldn't care less", it is rather flippant and disrepectful.
As a matter of fact, this post itself is disrepectful because if has nothing to do with what Abuela was speaking of and is beating a dead horse so do carry on and Abuela I apologize and hope that the rally is a raging success!!!!

My Mood: | | | Re: National protest against Prop 8 - Sat. 11/15, 1:30, Dover Well, there ended up being some question as to whether the protest in Dover was going to happen today, plus my Spouse wasn't feeling well and we had our toddler granddaughter with us and she needed to be napping at 1:30, not protesting, but there was a great deal of activity across not just the US but across the world.
Two of my favorite pictures from today are:
From a friend's website: Quote: |
This has been a great lesson for our children. It has been a hands on learning experience, showing that it is wrong to discriminate based on skin color, gender, religion, or sexual orientation.... We talk about it all the time and both Isabel and Gabriel know that even one person can make a big difference by standing up for what you believe in. We have great hope and faith that this issue of discrimination is another hurdle we can overcome as a nation and our children will grow up with equal rights for all.
| and from Andrew Sullivan's " The Daily Dish" which had photos from across the country and around the world (this one was about halfway down the page): Quote: |
The Chicago turnout was a little hard to believe - thousands of people blocking State Street and even Michigan Avenue. People in cars everywhere were honking their horns and leaning out of apartment windows in support. We even ran into one (straight) wedding party near the Hancock Tower that took some signs and held them up for us. It was exhilarating and, as one older gay couple put it, "We haven't seen anything like this since the sixties."
| It moved me to tears to see so many people - including thousands that it "didn't affect" because they are straight or don't live in CA - come out to protest this discrimination. |

At this point, I wish that I had cancelled my plans and taken my kids so that I could say they were part of history. (the only plans that I had was getting the kids haircuts which seems rather unimportant at this point) | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
