Our president is a showman. He is an excellent campaigner and loves the limelight. He can give a rousing teleprompter speech like few can. His trip to Europe has accomplished the ‘photo-ops’ the White House hoped for, but even with 12 teleprompters in tow, it still broke down at the town hall.

Obama not only defended the A.I.G. bailout, but Obama also thoughtlessly disparaged disabled folks when he compared his recent 129 score in a game in the White House bowling alley to the "Special Olympics or something."

The way I see it, there are a lot of credentials a person can have that make me value their opinion. If my Grandma publishes a paper about treating cancer in lab rats using grape juice, it's not going to mean all that much to me. If an oncologist writes the paper - that's a different story. They're qualified to give that information in a way that begs people to pay attention.

Anne Wortham, from what I understand, is a Sociologist. Therfore, I respect her right to speak about things that impact society in a philosophical way. Her blackness, or my lack of it, should in no way be a mitigating factor in the popularity of her opinion.

After listening to the Howard Stern clip I really think there should be some sort of test to determine your eligibility to vote. How the F*&% can someone not be aware of something as simple as the running mates? Don't take this personal. I know I'm amoung some pretty bright people on this board but I'd love to see the average IQ of the people voting for Obama versus the ones who voted for McCain. Hell, I already know I'm one of the dim ones.

Well Curly, this is a valid question. Being a numbers guy, statistically
speaking, there are many more whites in America than blacks. You have
to remember all the trailer park whites, back woods whites, etc. that
would certainly bring the IQ curve down a bit. Plus, usually when they
interview blacks on TV, for some reason they decide to speak to Tyrone
Biggums from Harlem (at least on Stern they do), not Michael Steele, head
of the GOP, who surely has a high IQ, although he didn't vote Obama (or
at least is not admitting it). Plus all those whites who cling to their guns
and religion, although full of common sense, might not fair so well on an
IQ test. This bears further research, and sounds like a dream weekend
for Joe Walther.


But back to this women who is the original topic of this thread. I would
say to her, enough with the black vs. white thing. Some people are pissed
that some voters chose Obama because he is black. I say bullshit. People
are pissed because voters chose Obama because he is Hawaiian. Sure, we
love Hawaii for it's weather and beauty, but come on. The President is
from Hawaii?? This is the equivalent of an expansion team winning the
championship in sports. All the purists and traditionalists freak the hell out.
