SAYS WORLD WOULD TEST YOUNG PREZ
Joe Biden warned that America's enemies would test Barack Obama with an international crisis within six months if he's elected president - a shocking comment John McCain eagerly pounced on yesterday to claim Obama isn't ready to be commander-in-chief.
"Mark my words," Biden told donors at a Seattle fund-raiser Sunday night.
"It will not be six months before the world tests Barack Obama like they did John Kennedy. The world is looking. We're about to elect a brilliant 47-year-old senator president of the United States of America.
"Watch. We're going to have an international crisis, a generated crisis, to test the mettle of this guy.
"And he's going to need help . . . to stand with him. Because it's not going to be apparent initially; it's not going to be apparent that we're right." READ MORE

Does Biden know something we don't know?
Is he withholding important info that could save property and lives?
Or is he telling us that Obama's inexperience on this impending crisis could be troubling?
Does these comments from Biden make you more confident in Barack Obama or less confident in his ability to get us through a crisis?

Oooh Obama, he's special because he'll get a pop quiz. |

As such, I'm not surprised at the probable hyperbole. And I'm not surprised that Joe shot his mouth off when he assumed the microphones weren't on. He does it when they are.
I think it's highly likely that Obama will be tested in some way by those gauging our reactions under new leadership. And if our response is not to declare war or invade without contemplating the ifs first, then it could be seen as a great departure from recent SOP.
Or, he may authorize an air strike into Pakistan if there's actionable intelligence that our enemies are known to be in a certain location and the Pakistani government refuses to act. He's already said he would consider this.
Either way, I think Obama will bring a different approach to the war on terror. I think he's 100 times more competent than what we've had. And I'm confident that whatever happens, he'll make sure he has the country on his side.

Don't be questioning our response for the next eight years like we keep questioning Bush's response to his "crisis". |

My Mood: | | | Re: Biden: International Crisis Will Test Obama So, let me get this straight - Obama is promising a change from the much detracted, much demeaned Bushian way of doing things? Now, even before anyone's elected, the Obama camp is withholding important information from us? Where's the so-called change? Maybe the POTUS has to keep certain things to himself and his advisors to avoid national panic. Bush should feel slightly validated over this.

I'm shocked but not surprised... | Now Rusty.... I don't think Joe has any such information, and therefore
is not withholding any such information.
It is a case of Joe saying stupid ass things. I read the quotes and really,
it was #1 stupid, and #2 nonsensical. (I think he missed his nap that day)
The point is whoever is in power will be tested, regardless of who they
are. The idea that some plan is lying in wait and dependent upon who
gets elected is ludicrous and quite funny all the same.
Somehow, someway, Biden always seems to get a pass on the things
that come out of his mouth.
Must be the liberal bias in the press.
(the same liberal bias I wish was around and asking questions, oh, I don't
know, around March 2003). maybe they were on vacation....
