With all the never ending construction, ballpark/restraunt traffic, and escalating crime rate. especially when you can get a nice house in greenville for the same price. It's the same reason the two new towers south market are still empty after 2 years

My Mood: | | | Re: ShipYard Shops on the Riverfront As far as the shipyard shops go, when your "anchor store" is L.L. Bean (no longer there by the way right?), you know your business venture is destined for failure.
no offense to all you Beaners out there.... and by that I mean LL Bean SHOPPERS, you fools!

I would go in there only BECAUSE all the other stores sucked. But for myself, I would never just go to LL Bean. One of my favorite stores is Eastern Mountain Sports or Modell's or Dick's.. Second, probably Best Buy or Circuit City... The shops down on the waterfront have nothing that interest me anymore... SHOPS, that is.. I do love Timothy's.. Not a huge fan of Iron Hill, but I never turn down a place with beer.... | | The Following User Says Thank You to SCRAPPY For This Useful Post: | |

My Mood: | | | Re: ShipYard Shops on the Riverfront Even when there were more stores there, it was always the most random assortment, like you'd find a largely over-priced Ralph Lauren store, the bra store (Bali or whatever), and like a junk-jewelry Claire's. Nothing up there ever interested me...but the walk around the river was sort of nice, I suppose...and of course, Timothy's is always good. |

| | | Re: ShipYard Shops on the Riverfront The shops still have potential. Maybe if they stopped being cheap and anted up the money they could attract good outlets like Brooks Brothers, Louis Vuitton, Prada, D&G, etc. That would attract tons of people from all over. It is still in a pretty darn good location which is extremely important. |

The plan is to build a bridge over the river to connect Market St/US13 to the area...that would be easier access, but they still need something to attract people.
They built it, but nobody came....
