OktoberFest This Weekend

I know it's monday but, who is going to the Oktoberfest this weekend?

It's $6 to get in and there will be free amusment rides and games for kids and adults to enjoy included in that price. I've been going for years and the people who host this event know how to have fun.

Man, for almost a decade...till 2003...I NEVER missed Oktoberfest. We used to have a blast every year. Milling around, building our beer cup pyramids...just enjoying the atmosphere.

I took my wife, daughter, and mother in law last year on Saturday night. Not as much fun. It was really hot and humid, the place was ridiculously packed....half an hour in every line to get food. Could barely move around, no place to sit....not the same. We left after about an hour, tops.

Maybe if I was still 'in my prime' and could get there early afternoon and set up shop at a table under the tents, it'd still be fun. But my wife really doesn't want to sit around and watch me pound Becks and catch Jaeger spays all afternoon.

But I say, if you're going to go, get there early afternoon and stake out a table. If you're not past your prime like me, it's probably still a great time.

When I was a kid many moons ago up in Hometown PA they had a huge Bavarian Festival I remember there were thousands and thousands of people there. Then one day it was gone. It was alot of fun

Me too under the tent with the German dancers, and around the back part where all the beer is.

Not sure about coffee MO.

Answer as to why the Oktoberfest is in September is below....basically another reason to party and drink.

Th fest in Munich lasts a little over 2 weeks, it looks like a really good time there, I saw it on t.v. on a show called "3 sheets" on the MOJO HD channel, if you have HD check this show out.
