I know that you all have plans for the weekend of September 19th & 20th but if anyone is interested Rusty Rudder is having Elvis impersonators.

I went a few years ago and it was awesome.

We've gone to the Elvis Show at Dewey for many years, and Friday night is the best. I believe it starts at about 4 p.m., but may be different this year. Doors open Saturday about 4 p.m. also, and the lines are long. Previous years there's been no cover charge, but once you get in there, the servers push food and drinks on you until it becomes annoying. If you don't get there by 4 p.m. Saturday you don't get a table. Last year we were in line for 40 minutes, waiting to get in. And, the event lasts until midnight or after. We've been told on Saturdays (the final competition), by the servers, to 'either drink more, eat more, or you'll have to leave. People are waiting for your table'. We could see people standing outside on the deck eyeing our table, even if we got up to go to the bathroom. Each year, the servers get more rude and are clawing for the tips. So, we'll go Friday night only, this year. We've booked a room there across from the Rudder previous years, but they are harder to get now because Elvis Weekend at Dewey is always Race Weekend, and rooms are at a premium. So, we'll probably just drive down early Friday evening....a 2 hour drive from Kent County in traffic.

Of course, that plan might be scrapped once I run it by the husband. He hated it last year and said it was stressful to have to keep ordering MORE food and drinks we didn't want, just to keep our seat.
