Grandparents came from Italy through Ellis Island & settled in Delaware, so I guess I'm 3rd generation. Grew up in Newark, went off to school in Philly and back to Newark. If you can't live @ the beach, I think it's the next best place to live in De.(although I may be somewhat biased) I grew up like 1/2 mile from U of De.

Raptor, you just brought back a lot of memories for me also. Thanks! I was born at the Wilmington General, my mom's family was from Sussex county and go way,way back, my Dad was from the eastern shore of Maryland.

Yes born and raised, family tree goes way back to before the civil war. I as a teenager recall 1968 as the most memorable year in my life, My father was a wilmington firefighter and when my older sister took him to work during the riots ,we had to pass checkpoints and also an escort by national guardsmen to 2nd and jackson (8 house) to drop him off, while the city burned my Mother Prayed for his safety...crazy time in America.
