Watch TV When Filling Up
WASHINGTON (AP) - August 28, 2007 - Pumping gasoline at service stations in the nation's capital will get a little more entertaining when televisions are installed at some stations.
Gas Station TV of Oak Park, Michigan, is outfitting pumps with 20-inch LCD screens that will play a four and a-half minute program with national and local content.
The company works with partners like ABC and ESPN to develop content. The programming will come through Maryland-based Hughes Network System.
The company already operates in New York and Houston and it will debut in Washington in December. Officials aren't sure which gas stations in D.C. will carry the content. The company's existing partners include Chevron, Conoco-Philips, Citgo, Murphy USA, Speedway and Philadelphia-based Sunoco.

dumb move, image how many will be stolen?
when i worked on MD Ave, i used to eat at the BK for lunch, they had one of them flat screens at the drive thru, one night someone broke into it and stole the screen, how ghetto is that? |
