My husband and I and our 2 year old son are thinking of moving to DE and we would like some suggestions for neighborhoods that are good for a couple with a young child. We would prefer to be in either Wilmington or the Hockessin, Pike Creek area.

We currently live in Southern Chester County (so nearby) but I don't like living so far away from "stuff" and are considering moving to Delaware. The areas we like so far are Deerhurst, Mendenhall Village and the Highlands area in the city.

They're all pretty good areas BUT, whatever you decide, make sure you check out the area you are considering during evening hours.
