| | | My step-grandmother keeps a huge sheet and every year every family member draws their hand and writes in each finger what we are thankful for and put our names and the year on it, its very cool.

Anyway, no real traditions here except eating and watching the parade and wearing or changing into baggy jogging pants after dinner and rubbing our bellies, lol.

| | | We have both families over, usually ends up at about 40-50 people. I do most of the cooking myself, the kids have their dishes that they make, hubby makes the rolls and I do everything else. Then I pass out for 2 days.

| | | Holidays are always very busy for us because we have to visit so many family members We spend most of our holidays in the car en route for different family members' houses (which are not very close together I might add). This year for Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas we are going one place and staying put! | | The Following User Says Thank You to Angela514 For This Useful Post: | | Re: Thanksgiving Traditions

| | | I like the drinkin' and gamblin' part Roog....
Usually just me 'n my wife. We get up and take the hounds out for an adventure walk - some place where they can chase rabbits or groundhog (if not too cold and already hibernating) or fox...then we come home and drop the turkey in the oven. Then its alternating between quality hot tub time and football watchin' until everything is ready (I do most, if not all the prep work the night before)...then we stuff out faces and continue back to the football/hot tub laps...it BLOWS that the Eagles are the late game this year - might have to just record it and watch it Friday evening.

| | | We have he kids and grand children over: Turkey, dressing, mashed and sweet taters string beans and home made rolls. Punkin and Pecan pies for desert, and a shock when getting on the scales the next morning. We do about the dame on Christmas may add some ham witrh the turkey - November and Decembewr are rough months for the waistline. Oh yes gravy, almost forgot. | Re: Thanksgiving Traditions

| | | We go to my Mom and Dad's house, watch football, throw back a few cold ones, eat until our pants need to be unbuttoned, and then watch A Christmas Story (quoting every line, naturally) to officially kick off the Christmas season.
Pre-dinner we also all fill out ten slips of colored paper with things we're thankful for. During our meal, we pass them around in a basket and read them at random. They get made into a chain for M & D's Christmas tree. | Re: Thanksgiving Traditions

| | We go to my in-laws in NJ. My family is scattered all over the place so we never see them for Thanksgiving. My FIL cooks the turkey and lasagna - hey what's Thanksgiving without a little lasagna!! I try to bring at least one veggie dish and a dessert because I can't stomach anything my MIL makes and she's in charge of the sides and dessert!!
Edited to add: Every year my Mother asks "I wonder how many turkey's were killed for just for today?". Don't ask me why, she just says it every year! LOL | Re: Thanksgiving Traditions

| | We'll be going to GT's familys for Thanksgiving. His sister usually has a big dinner, and everyone brings a dish or two. It's nice because for years it was just me and the kids, so the past three years have been like a dream. They even have birthday parties for me. I got a fiance and in the package was a Mom, siblings, neices and nephews, and critters, lol. Frickin awesome | Re: Thanksgiving Traditions

| | | For the last few years, my family and my in-laws with my sister-in-law have all gotten together at one house to celebrate Thanksgiving. It has worked out nicely so we aren't driving all over the place to visit everyone. Since my parents are moving and staying in a temporarly house, we are hosting Thanksgiving this year.
Every year, while everything is cooking, I watch the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade while all the guys go and play flag football. We usually eat and drink a lot and pass out. But, before dinner we say grace and everyone then chimes in on what they are thankful for. I'm sure I'll cry this year. Especially if I've been drinking a bit. | Re: Thanksgiving Traditions
