Possibly Moving to Northern DE

Hey everyone! I'm new to the forum. I live in PA now near Phoenixville, and there is a good possibility I'll be getting a job in Delaware! I had my 2nd interview for a company and it went well. Luckily I found this forum, and I thought I could get some good advice here.

This company is located on Silverside Road, north of Wilmington. It seems like a pretty nice area there. I'd just be looking for an apartment right now. To avoid traffic, I'd like to live pretty close to my job. Does anyone here have any suggestions on areas/apartment complexes to check out? I'm not opposed to living in Wilmington if it's a nice and safe area. I'm only 23 years old so I'd like to live somewhat close to restaurants, bars, etc.

Bars: In that area the most well known and decent place w/ great food even is Stanleys Tavern...think it is Foulk and Silverside rd.

When I moved to DE from NJ, I looked at just about every apartment complex there was in north Wilmington. I settled at Valley Run Apartments off of Carpenter Rd. and I'm still here 11 years later. I really can't say enough about the complex. It's a little older than some but the maintenance that we have here is fantastic. If I call regarding a problem, it is fixed by that afternoon. The apartments are also very spacious and the price is good. It's not the lowest and certainly not the highest. It's very family oriented. Yes, every once in awhile you get those neighbors from hell but not that often. They do not allow section 8 here which is good. It's very close to Silverside road as well. If you have a pet, they are welcome here too. If you have any specific questions, don't hesitate to ask.

Hey DJ...There are plenty of apartment complexes in N. Del. However, if you are looking for "jumping" bars/nightlife you will want to try the Trolly Square area in downtown Wilmington. The rent in this area is pretty pricey, but that is best bet for partying. It's only a short drive down 202 from Silverside Rd. Good luck!

Just don't get into the heart of wilmington, as long as you stay on the outskirts you should be fine....
Yeah they do have some good bars up that way....
