Re: Have You Read A Good Book Lately?

I got so obsessed with it that someone gave me Ebola for Christmas a few years ago.

Now I can say I sleep with Ebola every night.

Or that I got Ebola and lived.

Re: Have You Read A Good Book Lately?

i rjust ead an excellent book.
The memory keepers daughter by Kim Edwards

Click the image to open in full size.his stunning novel begins on a winter night in 1964, when a blizzard forces Dr. David Henry to deliver his own twins.
His son, born first, is perfectly healthy, but the doctor immediately recognizes that his daughter has Down syndrome. For motives he tells himself are good, he makes a split-second decision that will haunt all their lives forever. He asks his nurse, Caroline, to take the baby away to an institution. Instead, she disappears into another city to raise the child as her own. Compulsively readable and deeply moving, The Memory Keeper's Daughter is a brilliantly crafted story of parallel lives, familial secrets, and the redemptive power of love.

Re: Have You Read A Good Book Lately?

I just got finished reading "Twilight" by Stephanie Meyer. It's my fiancee's book, and she's really into vampire stuff. It was an awesome read! I'm anxious to get my hands on her next book, and for the movie to come out in December!

Re: Have You Read A Good Book Lately?

I read the three Stephanie Meyer books.

I wasn't that impressed. I liked the books, but I found it very difficult to identify with the main characters as they're written. They come off very flat, and not at all realistic.

Re: Have You Read A Good Book Lately?

I have recently discovered James Patterson....I know a day late and a dollar short; but in my defense I haven't been able to read for pleasure for quite a while due to school.

Anywho, I started with the Women's Murder Club series; I started the first book Sunday morning......finished it Monday afternoon. I'm now at the end of the 2nd book, really really good reads if you like crime/mysteries. I'm looking forward to all 7 books and then I intend to start on the Alex Cross series.

I recently re-read "The Five People You Meet In Heaven" by Mitch Ablom...

Love it!

Re: Have You Read A Good Book Lately?

I've been reading a romance-novel series this last couple of months. The Lords
of the Underworld by Gena Showalter (The Darkest Night, The Darkest Kiss, and The Darkest Pleasure, which I have yet to find).

I usually won't touch the genre with a 10-ft pole but these have the supernatural, Greek myth and lots of action going on in addition to the sugary stuff, so I ended up hooked.
