Re: Have You Read A Good Book Lately?

I just finished "A Short History of Tractors in Ukrainian" by Marina Lewycka....very cute and not what you think at ALL.

I love the Marian Keyes books...good Chick Lit.

But, I have to recommend "The Other Boleyn Girl" by Philippa Gregory which was the best book I've read in years. It's being released in theatres in Feb...so hurry up and read it. (Philippa's other books are wonderful too...but "The Other Boleyn Girl" was really fantastic.)

I thought that was a cute book as well. Not my favorite read of the year or anything, but I liked the family relationships.

I just finished "A Factory of Cunning" by Phillippa Stockley, and that was a good read if you enjoy historical fiction. It's a novel written entirely in letters and journal entries, taking place in 1780s London. Many of the people in the novel are really not nice, but all the intrigue and the social mechanizations just held my attention.

I used to love reading VC Andrews, you can tell when others took over his works the books weren't as good anymore. I stopped reading him altoghether.

A good read for anyone interested in things British and old.

It is because Follett published the much-awaited sequel "World Without End" at the end of 2007... I am currently devouring it

The ghost writer is a "him," the original Cleo Virginia Andrews was a her.

Re: Have You Read A Good Book Lately?

Speaking of celebrity authors, has anyone read any of the Steve Martin books? I've read Shopgirl and The Pleasure of My Company. He's a great writer. Very modern and witty. They're both quick reads and I would highly recommend them to anyone into offbeat lit.
