Hope
Try Stewart Woods.
He writes basically the same type of book, murder mysteries.

Those two are books I recommend to everyone.. but I did just finish reading Odd Thomas by Dean Koontz, which I wasn't displeased with.

Re: Have You Read A Good Book Lately?

I haven't had a chance to really do a lot of reading lately, but I used to really enjoy Anne Rice...maybe I should start again, my brain could use the exercise

Re: Have You Read A Good Book Lately?

Some of my favorite authors have gone crazy in the last few years. Michael Crichton has become a paranoid anti-technology, anti-global warming fanatic. All of his recent stuff is about how technology is evil and how global warming is a myth. Dean Koontz has turned into a religious fanatic, going from supernaturally good to God saves the day. Stephen King lost his edge after his accident. Robert Jordan lost his life to cancer before finishing the 12th and final book in his series. Terry Pratchett is always good for a laugh, however I finish his books in about an hour. John Sanford's "Prey" books are always good, if not a little repetitive.

Thanks for all the good suggestions, I'll have to start at the top of the list here and work my way down.

If this was who I'm thinking of, don't worry. He wasn't writing most of that drudge anyway, somebody else was. It'll be just like V.C. Andrews and continue going on and on and on for YEARS after he's died.

Re: Have You Read A Good Book Lately?

The pillers of the earth. By Ken Follett. I saw this book on sale in Costco last week. I thought it strange seeing as I had read it 17 years ago at least. Then I noticed that it was an Oprah recomended reading list book. I don't know why she's so late catching on. I checked my copy when I got home and it was written in 1989. A good read for anyone interested in things British and old.
