| | | Great post! I'm not a fan of Jake's Burgers (taste like Wendy's), but I'll swing by to make a donation.

| | | I can't get through. Busy for 10 minutes.
I just faxed them a note asking if they are even taking walk-in orders.
Doesn't look good. For lunch, that is. Looks like it's great for Jakes and the fundraiser, though. | Re: Fallen Firefighter/EMT

| | | True.
We're sending someone to go try to walk in, with a backup plan in place in case it's just ridiculous.
No reply to my fax, either! Those busy bastids! | Re: Fallen Firefighter/EMT

| | | We'll be ordering dinner from there tonight. The one on 273 didn't look too packed when I drove by, but that was just before 11 AM and I'm not sure when they open. Hope it's not insane for dinner. I might just call in our order around 4 or 4:30 just to be on the safe side. My younger daughter is runner her girl scout meeting tonight to go towards one of her cadet badges.

| | | Jake's expanded the fund raiser to all Delaware, Maryland and Pa. locations, or so they said. We went to 273 just after 11:00 and we filled the place almost instantly. We had police, fire, ambulance, Highway Dept. trucks and a lot of local hospital and Dr. office folks coming in. It was a friendly mob scene but we all had to wait a very long time. They finally had to stop answering the phone and begged people to give them 2 hours to catch up. I'd suggest going for late lunch or even dinner instead. Even call- ins and e-mail orders are being filled very slowly. I think this is much, much bigger than they had expected. | | The Following 2 Users Say Thank You to Crabby For This Useful Post: | | Re: Fallen Firefighter/EMT

| | Like Scrap said...it's a total win-win. Not surprised it took off so well.
I hope they raised a boatload of money today, and I hope Jake's shatters sales records for their generosity.

| | | I'm thinking we'll do a later dinner tonight.
I've been reading on the Mom's site that some of them have been turned away and that some of the locations were mobbed and couldn't handle the volume, but people are running in to donate money anyway without food. God bless 'em for having such a great turnout though! | | The Following 3 Users Say Thank You to DEMOA For This Useful Post: | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
