Yeah thats the one thing that sux about the vanity plates is it is easy for people to identify you. No such thing as driving down the road anonymously, but I figure my vehicles are never anonymous anyways.
A good vanity plate to get and remain anonymous is get one that mixes 1s and Is. Really hard to tell which are which if someone wanted to write down your plate. 1I11III

I agree, only the LEOs and other people who have access to the information can look it up and even they are only allowed to do it for official business. If someone looked up your information out of "curiosity", they could easily lose their jobs and face lawsuits from the person who's privacy was breached.

I don't know of any restrictions either, MO. I was just pointing out that vanity tags are in the same database as regulars tags and are just as easy to access the same info as a numbered tag. I think Chase thought, from his first post, that vanity tags are in a separate system that only DMV could access... which is not the case.
As for the rules in my other forum... they state that they don't want random posts of tags, only your own. That's prolly bc that site is an international website with vanity tags from all over this country and the globe.
I saw a tag the other day that said "RUTROW"... (think Scooby-Doo).
