Terms of Service

Last Modified: June 13th, 2009

General
The basic rules for TalkDelaware.com are simple;

* Be polite. Treat your fellow members with respect. Personal attacks or name calling in any form will not be tolerated and will result in you being removed from TalkDelaware on either a permanent or temporary basis.
* Use common sense. Do not post for the sake of posting, or simply to increase your post count.
* Don't break the law. Don't post about things that break the law, or that might encourage others to break the law.
* Ensure your post is useful and related to the subject of the original poster. Do not change the subject of a post, or post non-constructive replies (such as replies containing only smileys).

We don't intend to censor messages based on the opinions expressed within them, but we will enforce the rules. The TalkDelaware Admin/Moderation team reserves the right to remove, edit or move posts at its discretion, with or without an explanation. If you have any questions about whether the content of your post is suitable or not, please check with a moderator before you post.

Signatures
Signatures must be kept to a maximum of 6 (six) lines, and may contain no more than 3 (three) images.

Images must not be larger than the following dimensions

- 400 pixels in width
- 130 pixels in height

Signatures may be edited or deleted without notice by a member of the moderation team.

Forum conduct and message content

We take the "be polite" rule VERY seriously! We will not tolerate ANY rudeness . Any member who is intentionally unpleasant or disruptive will receive “infractions”, a infraction is logged in the database and expires in 1 month. If a member reaches 3 infraction within a month, they will receive either a temporary or permanent ban.

Swearing, blasphemy or profanity (again either explicitly or by trying to deceive our profanity filter) will be edited or deleted without warning or notice and may lead to the member being warned and / or banned from TalkDelaware.

In addition, members must not post images or use avatars that may cause offense to others. Images that cause offense may be deleted without notice.

Members should not hijack another member’s thread by deliberately changing the subject away from that which the original poster intended. Posts made in this way may be deleted without notice.

In all cases relating to acceptable content, the TalkDelaware moderation team will decide, at its absolute discretion, what is acceptable and what is not. Where posts are edited or deleted by the moderation team, no notice will be given.

ANY form of hostility or abuse to a member of the moderation team, as a result of their enforcing any of the rules, will result in the permanent banning of the offending member from TalkDelaware, without notice.

Reporting

if you are offended by a post, if you feel you are attacked by a poster, ANY reportable offense, REPORT IT. if you dont the staff might not see it, we cant see every post, and we cant read minds.

when reported the staff will look at the post and make a decision. the fairest decision possible. if actions needs to be taken it will and as it says in the original rules, they are not to be questioned PUBLICLY, feel free to pm the staff if you feel something is unfair.

If you are attacked and attack back, you are just as guilty as the originator and you will be moderated in the same fashion. i repeat, if you are attacked, report it, and step away.

now that is real easy to follow, there is no wiggle room there, it even covers ad-hominid attacks. you cant report a sig with the report feature, so pm a staff member.

if you use either your usertitle, signature, visitors messages, any public posting area to offend or talk badly about another poster, that area will be edited by the staff. it will be edited once and only once, you will receive a pm from the staff with the reason, if you do it again we will permanently remove that feature for you and you will not get it back.

Intellectual property

In light of our policy of encouraging candid, open exchanges of views, TalkDelaware cannot determine the accuracy of information that may be uploaded to the forum and accepts no responsibility whatsoever for the content, origin or use of any message.

Opinions, advice and all other information expressed by participants in discussions are those of the author. Members rely on such information at their own risk.

Thank You,
TalkDelaware Staff
