What about progressive? Oh, that's right...all 18 minutes of "Close to the Edge" violates FCC rules for required station identification intervals....

Raptor - You're my new friend... you are musically in my wheelhouse.

Last I heard tho, FCC Station ID must happen between 5 minutes before and after the top and bottom of every hour which allows for a maximum of 40 minutes between Station ID.

I wasn't aware we could pick more than one catagory..
I only picked one, but I wanted a couple more..

I'm still not sure what my favorite music would be catagorized as.. Other than what I listen to isn't usually heard on normal radio... The reason I love my Sirius..

I picked everything other than jazz. I'm not a huge jazz fan and I'm definitely not a fan of the hard/screamer type of metal when you can't understand what the words are.

Ughh....well, ya know...if you slow down the song this might make a really good lullaby.

I only picked one topic too...and that was Metal...the cookie monster voice rules!!! Actually, I'm more into the galloping and orchestrated metal, but a decent harmony with a melodic CMV overlay will always catch my ear...but you never hear that stuff on the radio...Not knowing you, I'd suggest some Type-O-Negative, perhaps "October Rust" or "Bloody Kisses"...

And of course, the early/mid-70's eloquent progressive stuff...YES, ELP, King Crimson - more stuff that's never on the radio...lost all touch with Zeppelin, The Doors, and Pink Floyd in the 80's when that was all that was on the radio..

I'm not sure about the actual FCC regs....I just know that when I'm on the Radio (I'm one of the fill-in guests on 1150am WDEL, Saturday Morning Consumer Hotline), there's a sign in the studio right next to the clock that calls for a station ID every 15 minutes....

I like a lot of different kinds of music but lately it doesn't seem to matter. If feels like whenever I get in my car my radio/cd player is being hijacked for Country/ Nascar / or Japanese Animae music, NONE of which I enjoy in the least!
