Seriously though.... how the hell did this waking a hibernating hedgehog to see if he "sees" his shadow to predict the weather come to be? It's really rather messed up.

I woke up this morning and realized it's only friggin' FEBRUARY. Man this winter sucks. Is it me, or has Mother Nature at least given us a couple warm days in recent years to offset the cold during wintertime?
I'd sell my soul for a 55 degree day. I mean, if I still had one. | | The Following 4 Users Say Thank You to Kid Lester For This Useful Post: | | Re: Will Punxsutawney Phil see his shadow?

But its supposed to be cloudy on Tuesday, so he probably won't see his shadow. | Re: Will Punxsutawney Phil see his shadow?

| | | From the Mt Holly AFD: AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE MOUNT HOLLY NJ
347 PM EST MON FEB 1 2010
.NEAR TERM /UNTIL 6 AM TUESDAY MORNING/...
THE GFS INITIALIZED BETTER THAN THE WRF-NMM WITH THE 12Z SOUNDINGS.
THE ACTUAL MODEL OUTPUT THOUGH LOOKED LIKE IT DEVELOPED SOME
GRIDSCALE FEEDBACK FEATURES. SO WE WENT CLOSER TO A MODEL CONSENSUS
THROUGH THE SHORT TERM. THE OVERALL GIST OF THE FORECAST WAS TO
TREND THE TUESDAY NIGHT EVENT HARDER WITH MOST AREAS CAPABLE OF
PICKING UP A COATING TO AN INCH OF SNOW WITH HIGHER ACCUMULATIONS
POSSIBLE IN THE SOUTHEASTERN PART OF THE CWA. BASED ON THE COLD,
SNOWY PATTERN WE FIND OURSELVES IN, PUNXSUTAWNEY PHIL WOULD INCREASE
HIS LONG RANGE FORECASTING SKILL SCORES BY SEEING HIS SHADOW TUESDAY
MORNING WHETHER ITS CLOUDY OR NOT. | | The Following User Says Thank You to Robb For This Useful Post: | | Re: Will Punxsutawney Phil see his shadow?
