Puppy love
Our English Springer Spaniel Max is taking a nap at my feet.
He's old, twelve already.
He goes into fits of hysterical barking whenever one of us comes home.
He barks hysterically whenever someone passes by the house (with or without a dog in tow).
He barks and
shrieks
when he gets a glimpse of his best bud, a pitbull named Scooter, when he and his person come over for them to play in the field.
He jumps onto the couch soaking wet after a walk in the rain.
He'll come over to you dragging the blanket he was wrapped in to keep the couch dry.
He'll sit by the dinner table and give you forlorn looks hoping for a bite or to lick your plate clean.
He demands a dog treat whenever he comes back in, whether he did his business or not.
He has lumpy growths on much of his body.
He sometimes needs pain meds.
He snores.
He's the sweetest old dog in the world.
