| Re: Prayer Thread for TD Members Thoughts and Prayers Needed Please… Most of you know my daughter has asthma, what you don’t know is she has a heart murmur as well. On May 23rd my daughter went to the doctors for a routine physical, she was diagnosed with her asthma being in an exacerbated stated, she was wheezing in both lungs. The doctor stated to use her rescue inhaler 4 times a day for 5 days, after that just go back to her normal Flovent usage. I sent a letter to my ex describing in detail what was wrong with Delaney and detailed the instructions given to me. I also detailed what a rescue inhaler was and how it was to be used. I provided him with her rescue inhaler that stated the type of medication followed by the words “for asthma attack.” I found out he has been giving her the rescue inhaler 4 times a day since 5/23. Some how he misconstrued the instructions on the bottle, and while he asked “someone else” (probably his mother) he did not consult the pharmacist or Delaney’s doctor. I talked to my ex yesterday morning and he stated he stopped giving her the rescue inhaler 4 times a day on 7/8 when my daughter mentioned it to my sister and my sister sent him a text message telling him to stop. During our conversation he asked/stated “well I am supposed to be still giving it to her 2 puffs in the morning and before bed right?” I said no that is only when she is sick and she is not. He said a surprised “Oh!” With that I question if he was still doing that he said yes and I told him to stop and he said she had already taken it today. I once again went to great lengths explaining this was a rescue inhaler and it was “for asthma attacks” and that the child’s condition is ASTHMA, not asthma attack. After I got off the phone with him I immediately called her doctor at AI DuPont and left a message explaining what had happened. I got a call back within a minute. They want to see her today at 1pm. They explained they are very concerned because over dosing of her rescue inhaler can cause severe heart damage and since her heart is already weakened with a murmur… I believe in the power of positive thought and prayer. This weekend while running around with the kids, she seemed fine. Please hope and pray that she is. Thanks.
