If you get Maxim they tell you were to purchase it in there. I am pretty sure it was last months or two months ago. I will check tonight if I still have that month or not. Will post here later if I do.

We got it from the LQ store in Governor's Square.

It does taste like licorice. Must stronger than sambuca. It's the anise in it. I'm figuring you can pretty much find it anywhere. We just happened across it, and that was like, three years ago.

It's 110 proof.

The first night we had it was St. Patrick's Day, we were staying in drinking. My SO and his best friend went out and got it 'cause it was green. Luck o'the Eirish and all that jazz.

I told them not to start drinking without me (I had to work).

I get home. They're practically immobile. About half the bottle is gone.

My SO's best friend only moved to go puke, something I have never seen him do before or since from alcohol consumption. My SO was practically comatose. They had only started drinking about half an hour before I got home.

That half a bottle floated around our house for months. Once when just FH and I were there, I decided to try it.

Now. At the risk of outing myself, I'll say this: One my SO cleaned our bedroom and found about four bottles of vodka with various amounts in them stashed around it where I had hidden them. I can take straight vodka like a champ. I once easily downed a regular drinking glass full of vodka and then went out to the movies with people who didn't know I had been drinking, and they had NO IDEA how shit faced I actually was until about halfway through the movie, and that was because I finally started giggling at the fact that nobody knew I was drunk and couldn't stop myself.

I took one shot of this stuff, and that was enough.

After that, some co-workers discovered it and I did about four shots with them before someone came to pick me up from the store on a Friday night.

I was so drunk. I puked for most of the following day.

Nothing else does that. It doesn't make you hallucinate or anything, it's nothing like that. It's just REALLY strong.

Moderation, as always, is key.

The night I drank it when FH was here, I think I did the one shot and an hour or so later I did another one, and I was fine that night.

It's when you drink it like you can handle it that it does bad things to you. Respect the Absente.
