As such, it holds a LOT of water. Which I'd prefer not to pay to refill every 2 or 3 days. It'd be nice if I could get a full 9 days use out of it...2 weekends on one fill.
Without getting a filter, what's the best way to keep the water habitable as far as chemicals go? I know some folks use bleach, which makes sense to me, but if anybody has horror stories about that, I'm all ears.
I'll also look for pool products, maybe a floating chlorinator or something, but just looking for suggestions from the always helpful TD crowd.

My Mood: | | Re: Kiddie Pool Maintenance It's similar to any other plastic or inflatable pool I would guess, some have filters and some don't but the filter isn't really what keeps the water clean, the chemicals do that. Dude, if you were closer I would give you a ton of stuff that we have left over because I took the pool down about two months ago. Besically, what you can do is add a small bag of "Pool Shocker" every other day and be sure to circulate the water (walk around in there) so the product disolves. I used to add it at night so that they (the kids) weren't in there for any extended time when the chemicals first went in. I also used two floating Chlorinators but the pool was much larger, it was an 18' diameter by 48" tall Intex pool, lots and lots of water.

It's still a lot o' aqua, though.
I'll check Walmart for pool shock and see if they've got a cheap floating chlorinator. |

Whatever you add just make sure you stir it up REALLY good. The chlorine or shock will eat the plastic if it settles on the bottom for any period of time. Have fun dumping the water out of that sucker when you need to drain it!! Watch your back! lol
