D'Agosto will play Claire's (Hayden Panettiere) boyfriend, West, who is said to have a very cool superpower, the trade paper reported.
D'Agosto is the second new addition to the cast of Heroes for next season, joining recently appointed new regular Dania Ramirez.
This past development season, D'Agosto co-starred opposite Marisa Tomei in the CBS' comedy pilot The Rich Inner Life of Penelope Cloud. (NBC is owned by NBC Universal, which also owns SCIFI.COM.) |

"I am so excited, I can't tell you" Panettiere said in a panel discussion at Philadelphia Wizard World on June 16. "People ask if it's fabulous to be on a little break for hiatus and getting some time off, but every single actor cannot wait to get back to the show. It's more stressful not being on the show than being there every single day, all day long."
With fans keen to know what's to come with Claire and the other characters, Panettiere offered a few tidbits for the audience to savor. "I may get [a boyfirend] in the second season," she said coyly. "I was like [to the writers], 'Dudes, OK! That's it! Everyone else on the show has a love interest, and I don't get one? I killed my first one ... unfortunately."
While Claire was left standing in the season finale, the super-power-sucking villain Sylar (Zachary Quinto) was mortally wounded, yet disappeared. "I had someone say something so ridiculous to me the other day after the finale," Panettiere said with a laugh. "They said, 'So Sylar turns into a cockroach?,' referring to the epilogue in the finale where a trail of Sylar's blood leads to a manhole cover, on which a cockroach rests. The scene is meant to recall the pilot, which referred to the insects as evolutionarily superior. I was like, 'Wow. Wow,'"
During the hiatus, Heroes: Origins will fill the gap between new seasons. "They are creating that show, which will be four to six episodes," she said. "When you see the map [that documents the whereabouts of others with super powers], there are pictures of people on it, so that show will be telling their stories for a little while."
As for Claire’s journey in season two, Panettiere said: "This past year has been a growing year for me. She started off as this very naive girl, and she's learned to stand on her own. I'm looking forward to seeing her somewhere new, with different people and continuing her growth and development. I'm sure she'll dodge every curveball that comes her way. What [the producers] said to me about the show was that the first season was what happens when ordinary people discover extraordinary abilities. This season is what happens when extraordinary people try to be ordinary again." Heroes returns to NBC this fall in its regular timeslot, Mondays at 9 p.m. ET/PT. —Tara DiLullo Bennett |

Ali Larter, who plays the dual-personality Jessica/Niki on NBC's hit Heroes, told SCI FI Wire to expect her character to channel another popular kickass female hero in the coming second season. "I've heard a little bit," Larter said about the upcoming arc for her character. "A little La Femme Nikita. ... I'm happy about most things they give me on the show."
Larter referred to the hit 1990s spy series starring Peta Wilson and the Luc Besson movie on which it was based, centering on a woman who is trained and deployed as a top-secret government assassin against her will. Larter spoke in an interview at the Television Critics Association summer press tour in Beverly Hills, Calif., on July 17.
Larter added: "We are shooting the third [episode] right now, and they're amazing. They're introducing new characters. ... You know, the writers on our show are so creative, and they've just are unleashed. ... So it's great. People are going to be really into it."
At the end of the first season, Larter's character changed as her two sides—the empathetic Niki and the superstrong alter ego, Jessica—melded into a single person. "I really am enjoying [playing one character]," Larter said. "We went down a lot of different roads last year, and it was really creative for me, that I got to do those scenes where I was in jail, and some of the stuff with my son and playing Jessica, some of the stunt stuff. I mean, I feel like I actually jumped genres at times within the season last year." Heroes returns for its second season on Sept. 24 and will air in its regular timeslot, Mondays at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
