Yes it is that time of year again!!!

Saturday marked the day where the Girls Scout are officially allowed to sell cookies. All cookies ordered now will be deleivered at the beginning of February.

Cookie Booths will soon be seen at the end of January / beginning of February.

So stock up on all your favorite cookies now!!!

Remember all Girl Scouts not only earn rewards on the cookie booths but on the individual sales as well. Your orders help girls to reach their goals (individually and as a team) and this is the biggest fund raisers the Girl Scouts have and it only happens once a year.

This year I am extremely excited about it. This is my daughters 2nd year of being a Daisy and being allowed to sell cookies. This year she has a GREAT leader who has set reasonable goals and the girls are really excited talking about the money they are raising to go on camping trips and to help with the community.

And as always, you can donate cookie orders to go overseas so our troops get to enjoy Girl Scout cookies as well. And while we do not get to pick where the cookies go, the person ordering the cookies gets to choose which cookies they would like to send over
The girls recieve credit for these cookie orders as well.

This is the Girl Scouts of the Chesapeake Bay Councils 2010 Cookie Varieties:

Girl Scout Cookies are $3.50 per box.

NEW FOR 2010!
Thank U Berry Munch

Lemon Chalet Cremes
The Taste That Takes You There.
You can go far with the new luscious and rich Lemon Chalet Cremes. One bite will take you to new heights of lemon enjoyment. Featuring a design of Our Chalet in Switzerland, a beloved Girl Scout World Center, this sandwich Cookie has a touch of ginger that evokes the warmth of a fireside chat on a snowy evening.

Samoas
Chewy and rich!
Tender vanilla Cookies, covered with caramel, rolled in toasted coconut, and striped with a rich chocolaty coating.

Tagalongs
Wildly popular!
Tasty Cookies topped with creamy peanut butter and covered with a luscious chocolaty coating. ply peanut butter for our Girl Scout Cookies.

Thin Mints
Extra thin, extra minty.
A thin wafer covered with a smooth chocolaty coating. Made with natural peppermint.

Trefoils
Light and delicious!
Short, tender, delicate-tasting shortbread that melts in your mouth.

So.... which are your favorite?

Mine of course is the Tagalongs... but I'll tell you the new one "Thank U Berry Munch" is delicious... I've ordered 4 boxes LOL But then again I already ordered a case of Tagalongs and 6 Thin Mints, so I will probably get more of the Berry ones later too LOL

Thank God they freeze well!

I've always been a thin mints fan, but I also love samoas and trefoils. I've never had tagalongs or lemon chalet cremes, but they look REALLY good! Perhaps, I shall try some this year!

You've sold me on them, especially if they are anything like Reese's Peanut Butter Cups! The thin mints usually had me hypnotized so I ordered more of them at the tagalongs' expense, lol.

I guess I'd better forward this to our son in Iraq to find out how many cases they want to order. There Battalion has 200 In the Head Quarters group and 1200 ground pounder's. I like them all but the Coconut one's, I can't stand Coconut.

I would generally only get the Thin Mints from some one at work. Never mind how many, but what I bought should have lasted a year, They generally lasted about 1 1/2 weeks. Once I opend up a sleeve ---- Down the hatch.

We now get them from two girls at church but direct to the military.

Too bad the little darlings don't make and bake their own cookies.

$3.50 for 6 dam cookies?

i know.. they are expensive...

but they are fundraisers... and that's why they are expensive, just like all fundraisers.

Have you seen the prices of Joe Corby's and the Cookie Dough one?

and atleast they show where it goes:

Where the Money Goes

The Girl Scouts Cookie Program provides girls and young women with invaluable experience in the world of finance. They enjoy “running a business” for which they are totally accountable. The must keep accurate records, submit order forms and distribute product to customers. These young businesswomen discover that providing good customer service is key if they want repeat business.

Girl Scout Cookies are $3.50 per box. Here's where the money goes:

Trust me the 19% to the troops is HUGE, its how our girls go camping and other things.

It seems like they would be better if they would move this sale any other time of year. With everyone starting the annual fitness program and all those weight loss resolutions, it's gotta hurt sales.

I know that's what I'm saying every time I see a GS cookie stand. Now if it was Oct or Nov, I'd be all over that goodness.

Oh...and if I did buy them it would be the Somoas. You can't get them anywhere else.

....yeah and it's plain creepy to invite one inside your house to get warm while you ponder your order. Not that I've ever had a Girl Scout come to my house though...do they still sell door to door or is that old school?

I'm sure the girls and moms will be set up outside of my Zingo's in Pike Creek, which I go to about 4 times a week.

I'm with Hockey. Samoas are friggin' awesome. I'll get 2 boxes of those and 2 thin mints when I see them.

Tagalongs are good, but they just remind me of how much better peanut butter TastyKakes are. And for the same price or less.

Years and years ago, I had a first date lined up on a Friday night. Went into the Wilmington Trust on Main St. in Newark to cash my paycheck. The girls were set up inside the bank selling cookies. Back then, they were $2.50 a box. The girls had wrapped the cookie boxes in very nice shiny silver wrapping paper with ribbons and a bow. So I bought a box of Thin Mints for my date that night. Man...for $2.50...I was a friggin' hero. She told everybody at her work the next week about our date. Told me all the girls at her office referred to me as "Mr. Thin Mint." Guess that's better than Mr. Thin...something else. Either way, I was in after that.

Pun intended
