Dog Training

My 'Mother-in-law' just got a new dog, it's half lab and the other half is weimeriener (sp). Anyway, it was kept outside in a kennel for the first months of life and now she has it inside and is trying to train it not to go in the house. Anyone have any suggestions? No, she cant afford dog classes, plus she couldnt go anyway, she's has breathing problems.

Re: Dog Training

tell her to walk the dog ALOT... and be patient..
I would advise against "paper training" because then
your teaching the dog its ok to crap inthe house..
as long as its on some paper... then you still have to
house break it again off the paper.... imho

the only real method is time and patience.. some dogs
get it faster than others.. most dogs dont even have
the muscle control to hold it that long untill they are a few
months old anyway..

with my bulldog I was ready to just give up and make her an
outside dog.. but one day it was like... Oh, you want me to crap
on the grass.... NOT the carpet... OOOOOHHHH thats why you
were getting so mad at me.. lolololol :-D

Re: Dog Training

Thank you. Yeah she does try to get him out a lot, but she's not able to do it as often as she should, so she tries to get her teenagers to do it. (Notice I said 'tries'.)

Re: Dog Training

Check with boundchaos, she has the banner above. She mind even make housecalls if she is in the Delaware area. If she isn't ask her, she is a dog trainer.
