My wife and I get into arguments about this. I tell her that it is a waste of gas, and with the price at the pump every bit we can save counts.
She tells me that she would rather pay the extra to be warm.
What are your thoughts? What do you do?

My Mood: | | Re: Do you warm your car up? It varies here, depending mostly on when I'm leaving, or when my wife is leaving really, in relation to when I'm leaving ... If I'm heading out close to when she is, say 5 to 10 minutes I'll start hers before I go, I'll worry about it warming up while I'm on the road myself ...

My Mood: | | | Re: Do you warm your car up? Well, Chris insists on warming the family car up, but not for passenger comfort. He does it to warm the engine. I think it's a waste of gas since the drive from the house to the main road is probably enough to get the engine warmed up enough. Besides, it's not a performance car anyway, it's a Focus wagon.
I don't care if the car is cold inside, I have a wonderful coat |

My Mood: | | Re: Do you warm your car up? And does he use a hair dryer to warm the engine slightly before he turns it over, you know, baby steps ... That thick hunk of metal is warming at the same rate whether you're stopped or you're moving, but the wife likes to throw that at me sometimes too, "you didn't let it warm up" - "and I didn't stop it from warming up either" ... |

Needs work, but she's been a good vehicle thus far. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
