Disagree With Walmart's Bike Policy? Take Off Your Clothes In Protest!

BikeForums member ReachHigher stripped down to her sports bra and spandex after Walmart refused to let her enter the store with her $600 bike. A manager explained that since Walmart sold bikes, bringing in an outside bike would obviously be too confusing to handle. ReachHigher asked if they also sold shirts. "She said yes so I took off my jersey and said well then I'd better not bring this in either..."

I like that she was willing to prove a point but, it fell short I'm sure.

*They probably sell everything she was wearing

Re: Disagree With Walmart's Bike Policy? Take Off Your Clothes In Protest!

My question is: If you ride a bike that is that expensive don't you bring a chain and lock too?? Why did the bike have to go in with her? I mean, ok, great protest I'm sure, but WTF?? A bike is not like a stroller or a wheel chair......it's a BIKE! Not the easiest thing to move around in an isle ya know? That was my thought when I read this. My best friend and her kids bike EVERYWHERE, and they have really expensive bikes, but they chain them up when they get to their destination. Just my thoughts....

Re: Disagree With Walmart's Bike Policy? Take Off Your Clothes In Protest!

I think bikes are too dirty to walk around inside a store. The wheels can easily press mud on merchandise.

Good point she made. But i think she should have pressed for a bike rack at the entrance.

Re: Disagree With Walmart's Bike Policy? Take Off Your Clothes In Protest!

Maybe she was there to purchase a bike lock? LOL

I see people carrying their bike wheels around but I don't see the need to bring the entire bike into a building.

This is stupid.

I wouldn't bring a laptop into Best Buy, I wouldn't bring a CD into a music store, I won't even carry a coke into Genuardi's. I get mad when my daughter wears a Hollister shirt to the mall. It's just common sense. I don't want anyone to think I'm a shoplifter and I'm the type that would feel so bad I'd probably pay for it again just to not cause a fuss.

I hate Walmart but I see the managers point here if they sell that type of bike. Even if they don't that girl should not be wheeling her bike around the store, IMO.
