Re: Death

I'm with Momof3, take what can be used and burn the rest. I never understood the whole idea of the funeral/burial thing. I don't see why we should "waste" valuable land to put dead people in. Just don't get it. I also don't want my ashes kept in a urn for eternity, put them in the ocean.

Re: Death

I want a big ole Irish (Heinz 57) wake where everyone gets trashed and tells stories about me. Cremation is good. I don't think I want my body parts stolen by Med students for practical jokes. Ah, who am I kidding,I won't know and it won't matter.

Cremation for me... after they harvest my viable organs.

Poll?

Can you imagine if it was your body in that exhibit that was on tour that shows everything under the skin with cadavers? What was the name of it?

Also, for all of the talk about Organ Donation most of you (myslef included) won't qualify, and to no fault of your own mind you. Unless you're on your death bed, on life support, and they're ready to go with organ harvest most if not all of your organs will not be used as they don't harvest dead organs.

I've been an organ donor for as long as I can remember. I figure on the off chance that they can use anything of mine it's all good. Since I obviously won't need it anymore, hopefully the situation would be right and it could benefit someone else. I just don't want my family to have to make a decision and wonder if it would be what I wanted. After working in nursing homes for a few years I've tried to make things very clear to my family and husband, you just never know what the future holds.
