well i couldn't wait to test these....
i just had one and the verdict is in 
i wont be switching brands but they actually work as advertised. i smoked half the cigarette and it was just like a regualr old non-menthol cig, i squeezed the filter (had to squeeze rather hard) and it popped and i took a drag and it was a menthol....GENIUS!
a few smoking buddies were outside, they though it was weird (i agree) but commented.... me: it's neat but really like a gimmick worker 1: well, if your out and someone wants to bum a smoke they have a choice of menthol or non menthol (good thought) worker 2: well, now they can make menthol and non-menthol on the same line (another good thought)

I can't comment on cigarette smoking, but this is similar to other products where there is nothing left to innovate so they make stuff up. Cases in point, toothbrushes and pizza.
It's ALWAYS some gimmick with these pizza commercials...cheese in the crust, double-decker, round pizza, square pizza, on and on. it's pizza damnit. it tastes good.
Also, toothbrushes. Walk down the dental hygiene aisle at Happy Harrys....do we really need this many different kinds of brushes?
They slap the word NEW on there, and their work is done.

Do they really use the term "lung numbing flavor?" Wow!
Maybe it's for people who can't afford a whole pack, so this way they can go in on a pack with someone who smokes/doesn't smoke menthol. |

Oh, come on! Since when does anyone smoke for the flavor? People smoke to get a hit of nicotine.
Smoothness is all in the curing process. I like menthols because they don't burn my throat as much.
