Hi everyone, I was wondering if someone could tell me alittle something about middletown delaware....I was interested in moving up there with my family. Is it a nice place to raise children?

We have a very good schools up here, we have lots of shopping hell we have a walmart. It's frankly a great place to raise children we raised 5 here and I got no complaints except that with all the good stuff we got traffic. I hope you decide to come on up, if I can answer any other questions let me know. BTW where is down there?

Here's a solution to all the controversy over full-body scanners, searches, pat downs, etc. Have an appropriate booth that you can step into that will not X-ray you, but WILL detonate any explosive device you may have on you.

check this out, these are the public schools in our area, there are also some very fine private schools here.

I live just north of the canal, you will soon know, what that is if you move here, off of 896 which is about 6 mi N of Middletown proper. Great area, love it. Kids are grown and away - but when they were young we lived in Newark and they went to private schools.

What are we checking out? I don't see anything.

And to my3boys you would be moving down here since you are from Staten Island. Up would be the New England States. Just messin' here too. Please, don't take any of this the wrong way. Delaware is a great place to live. Having lived in Jersey before. Delaware is way better. (especially taxes) Other then having to pump your own gas which sucks. But, no biggie.

Thank you again. I have family that live in middletown in a development called longfellow. I was interested in being in the cedar lane school district. The prices of houses are so much cheaper than ny/nj and the taxes are less than half. I just feel that we wouldnt be living just to pay a mortgage anymore.

I live in the Appoquinimink school district but above the C&D canal. There are a cluster of developments here that fall into the district. I love the schools. Our feeder pattern above the canal sends our kids to all of the new schools in the district:
Cedar lane kindergarten center (maybe 5 years old)
Olive B Loss Elementary (7 years old)
Alfred G Waters Middle School (new this year)
Appoquinimink High School (new this year).

We have been very happy up here.

Middletown is a great place to live and raise children. The public schools are good and there are several good private choices as well as a couple of charter schools. There are some great youth sports programs for both girls and boys. The taxes are low, utility rates are comparable with everything around us. There has been tremendous growth over the last several years and as another poster suggested the only real negative of that is traffic. The traffic is only really bad compared to here several years ago, it takes ten minutes to get across town at the worst times. There are many great annual events that go on here that help to keep this a close community. The best thing about Middletown is that people still take care of each other here- we are still small town America.

Why not just move to Fourth street??? You can have the best(?) of both worlds... Espanol speakers which smell bad, AND tax free shopping....
Plus you can get nightly entertainment from all of thew shootings in Wilmington... I am sure that'd be a hoot!!!
