New to this site =)

Hi everyone,

I am very new to your site...I just found you guys by looking up Delaware chat. I am looking forward to getting to know everyone.

I do have a few questions...my bf and I was are looking to move to Delaware end of Oct and we want to know where in Delaware to move to? We are actually making a trip out there in a few weeks. He will be working in Newark and I am a Nanny. Not sure where my job will be as of right now. We are looking to maybe rent a house or townhouse. Maybe even a nice condo or apartment. We want to be atleast 20-30 mins away from his work.
Does anyone know of any good areas to be looking? Thanks for all the advice!

Re: New to this site =)

With the price of gas being high and Delaware roads and traffic being what they are, you might want to try and stay in the Newark/New Castle/Bear area. There are a lot of townhomes in Bear.

Technically, our address is Newark, and my SO works in Newark, but he's still about 20 minutes away, just because of traffic. And now we wish we were closer so we weren't spending 70 dollars in gas every week. I'm right around the corner from my work, and summer beach/tourist traffic makes the drive about half an hour sometimes.

Delaware commutes = suxxorz.

yeah it really depends on th time of commute...and your budget...you can go anywhere from 130k to 700k...if you like townhomes...and can afford it... around 200 to 300k id recommend mendenhall village...the overall scenery in thre is nice and homely...people seem friendly as well...single families will run you around 100 to 125k more
