Hi klwhitte! You've got that right! It's ALL different now. And, Delaware has become the 'retirement' state. I also was born and raised here (Kent County) and there are very few locals. Not that I expect Delaware to be the same as it was, but "progress" is a double-edge sword. I was looking at the tax rolls the other day for the Fenwick Island, South Bethany area. Homeowners from the State of Delaware are very few, with most from New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Virginia. | | |

I'm another native delawarean (from New Castle County), but I spend LOTS of time in Fenwick (and the other beach resorts) over the summer... its amazing to see them change from year to year!! some good, some bad changes. i guess that's how things roll, but it sure does make me feel OLD, reminiscing about "when I was a kid"....

I know what you mean. I grew up in Bethany and then moved to Roxana when I was 8. Now I live in Clayton on 2.5 acres. Only go down to the beach to visit my family that still lives there.
