Tomorrow ,Sunday, May 19 is Newark's Memorial Day Parade,the biggest in the state. Main street and Delaware Ave, will close at 12:30 with the parade stepping off at 2:00. Memorial services and wreath laying on the UD green and at the Academy Building start at 1:00. The parade will do a silent march down Delaware Ave.to Chapel st.,left there, and then left on Main Street going the correct way all the way to South College Ave. with a reviewing stand at the Academy Building. Because this is Aetna's 125th anniversary we will make a big deal of it dedicating our ladder truck and rescue truck to our local vets. We'll have the Emerald Society Pipe Band from Washington DC with us. Lots of military units, bands and other fire companies too. We wanted to give you heads up that this weekend is the BBQ Cook Off & Festival at Frightland. The Middletown Chamber of Commerce will be sponsoring this event which includes some of the best food in the country.
